When you find something cool online it’s fun to share it on Facebook. Kind of like baking a tasty batch cookies, you gotta share. Although sometimes when you share on Facebook have you noticed that there’s 20 different thumbnail images to choose from…or there isn’t even an image that relates to what you’re sharing?
Picture compliments of my wife, check her site soon for the recipe!
Well this can be even more frustrating if it’s your own blog.
Anyways, I was sick of it myself and couldn’t find anything to solve this problem…so I made this plugin by piecing together a bunch of code I found online. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it works great.
If you haven’t downloaded my social sharing plugin yet, click here.
After you’ve downloaded it, follow these simple steps to install and use it:
1. Install and activate the zipped file.
2. Every post and page will have a new meta-box titled “Share This on Facebook”.
Fill out the title, description, and add an image url for each and every post.
That’s it! The next time some one shares a post from your WordPress blog, the share preview will be populated with the information you determined.
As always, I hope you found this helpful. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment below.

Very useful, Rob. I love the idea of being able to control the image that others share. Without it, you’re kinda left letting someone else be the art director of YOUR content. Great job “piecing together” code stuff. You make it sound so easy (haha).
Thanks Jack!
Nice tips!! I am adding this to my blog tonight!!
